We originally were leaving Florence, SC down a road to Orlando FL. Consider plenty of time, we decided swing by Charleston, SC, a aesthetic appealing and historical significant town.

Rainbow Row, Charleston SC, Aug 10 2025

It was a rainy day. But I still thought it was a good day for us to explore the old US history a little bit. Walking through Rainbow row on the cobble stone street was a incredible to enjoy this historical town. I felt that many tourists stayed at this small town. If the weather was better, we should see the beautiful beach. There were many plantations in the town. They displayed the grand houses and elaborate gardens. These places also tell the history of the enslaved people who lived and worked there. It also made me recall my time in Sao Tome and Principe. But the plantations there were built by Portuguese. Oh..It was 20 years ago now.

We did not have time to visit every places here. But our family still took a family group selfie at pineapple fountain at Waterfront Park. I was wondering why the fountain was made in terms of pineapple image! Of course, surf the web or ask AI for answers. It is the symbol of hospitality. It also represents the port’s past history, wealth, and fortune.

I have put this place in to my pocket. When Jolie and I have time in the future, we can arrange another trip. We want to dive in this beautiful, historical, and aesthetic place.
