Time can not go back, but my first high school experience finally came with Emily.
The months of March and April at Emily’s high school were chill but a little anxious. Waiting for college application results and deciding where to go left everyone feeling uncertain. We did a few campus visits for UMASS Amhrst, Tufts University, and Trinity College. Actually, this was also a no-brainer when you earned a premier, full-tuition merit award from a distinguished Liberty Art College.

In June, we all attended our first outdoor high school graduation at AB High School. I barely recalled my high school. But I believed that it was a typical assembly hall. Still, there were some short speeches, but everyone was in line to receive their own graduation diploma here. What I felt was a “sense of ritual” really matters here, but I did not find this in my old memory of high school graduation in 1997.
This is absolutely a milestone for our family. Emily was the first to attend a 4-year undergraduate college in the US. In addition to her own diligent work, it also reflects Jolie’s and my efforts, and Alice’s support. Wishing Emily all the luck and wisdom over the next four years.
